The Seafood Cabin, situated in the gardens of Skipness House, looks over green pasture to Skipness Castle and blue seas to Arran. Serving consistently delicious and exceptionally fresh local seafood all day, al fresco. Established over 25 years ago, this family-run business has forged a reputation as a must-go destination for seafood enthusiasts; people travel from far and wide to enjoy its delights. Aside from the stunning location and relaxed atmosphere, the Seafood Cabin is made special by its respect for the produce it serves; each dish is thoughtfully prepared to let the flavours of the seafood take centre stage. Simple additions such as home-made condiments, salads from their kitchen garden and local wines/beers complement. Sophie James who established the Cabin at Skipness House in 1990, still runs the restaurant today.
A delicious variety of home-baked cakes, scones and hot drinks are also served all day. For children; a simple fish-finger sandwich is available and entertainment provided by our local entourage of animals including; lambs, chicks, geese, ducks & dogs
Listed in the Observer ‘Good Food Guide’, also making it into The Times ‘Top 50 Venues in Britain for Eating Outside’, the Seafood Cabin guarantees a memorable culinary experience, against the backdrop of one of Scotland’s most spectacular views.
